The region we call TGT encompasses a rich geographical part of Florida that rivals eco systems around the world. Stretching from Fernandina Beach south to Cape Canaveral, west to Ocala National Forest and back to St. Augustine is steeped in such diversity that one could spend a lifetime and not explore it all. Can you imagine being on a pristine beach, driving to a fresh water spring, having lunch in a historic city, and still have time for hiking, biking, or fishing. The diversity in short distances is mind blowing.
Our tours will offer a sampling of what each of these regions offers. Pristine beaches are the jumping off points. Everything starts with the oceans. No where are there finer beaches then Flagler Beach or Canaveral Seashore. Believe it or not you can actually be standing alone and not see human activity all day in some places. Fresh water springs are emblematic of Florida’s eco-system. No where are there more springs then in Florida. Some of the most accessible are right smack in the middle of the TGT. Blue springs, Deleon Springs and Alexander Springs can all be reached from the coast in a short time. These are State Parks! Each offers something unique and exciting. What they all have in common is the 72 degree temp of he water. Many folks believed that the springs had healing powers and to his day people go for medicinal purposes. Most though go for the great swimming, beautiful parks, and to cool off in the hot summers. The springs are the life blood of Florida’s sensitive ecology. It’s where the fresh water comes from recharging the ecosystem.
Small town Florida can be found all through this region we call The Golden Triangle. Towns like Mt. Dora, Deland, New Smyrna Beach, Flagler Beach, Palatka, St. Augustine, Fernandina Beach and so much more in between. Blue highways are never without the local roadside stands selling local fruits veggies' and honey. What would a Florida road look like without a “boiled peanut stand”.
East Coast Tour is determined to shed more light on The Golden Triangle and introduce first time visitors to places in Florida that remain secrets only to locals.
A Place to PLUG AND PLAY!!
The Golden Triangle is a concept directed towards the neighboring counties that would find it’s interests aligned. By using there rich resources co-operatively counties, municipalities, vendors could easily be a constant destination for those not just seeking a Florida vacation but an experience that enriches their lives, educates them about our eco-system, and leave them with a memory that would spread around the country. Working in cooperation with transportation, hotels, restaurants, parks, and tour operators, will not only benefit the counties it surely makes it easier for the visitor. These cooperative practices are being implemented all over the world. Even on our own west coast of Florida they have realized the benefits of working together.
So imagine staying at a beach in Flagler County, having a transport to Deleon Springs for the day, and eating dinner in St. Augustine. Not hard to imagine.
