The White Sands Buddhist Center, also known as Tu Viện Cát Trắng, is a serene and spiritually enriching destination located at 4640 Knost Drive in Mims, Florida. Nestled on a tranquil 27-acre campus, the center is renowned for its peaceful ambiance, majestic granite Buddha statues, and commitment to mindfulness and compassion. The center features four of the largest granite Buddha statues in Florida: Shakyamuni Buddha (Nirvana Buddha), a 35-foot-long, 40-ton statue depicting the Buddha entering nirvana; Standing Buddha, a towering 35-foot-tall, 200-ton statue symbolizing enlightenment; Mother Avalokitesvara, a 32-foot-tall, 60-ton statue of the Bodhisattva of compassion; and Baby Buddha, a 35-foot-tall, 200-ton statue representing the Buddha's birth. These statues, carved in Vietnam and transported to Mims, are set amidst lush gardens and reflective ponds, creating a harmonious environment for contemplation.
